about ME

My research and teaching relates to the operations management and IT areas.  Prior to joining the University of Oregon, I was on the faculty at Penn State University and before that I began my career as an engineer at GE.  My research addresses pricing, inventory, and quality/durability issues in the retail sector.  I am currently teaching both introductory MIS and database courses; DSC 340 and DSC 544/444 in the Lundquist College.
My wife Natasha and I live in south Eugene.  Oregon has been, and continues to be, a great place to raise our two daughters.  During times when our respective work and daughters’ gymnastics schedules permit, we enjoy getting outside and experiencing the Oregon wilderness with the occasional skiing, hiking, or rafting trip.

My personal interests relate to playing catch-up with the Surgeon General's recommendation to get 2.5hrs/wk exercise.  To that end, I sporadically find myself on a Type II fun excursion with gravity working against me in some way.
